Born in Santiago de Chile in 1970, Ricardo Villalobos grew up in Germany after his family fled the Pinochet regime. Between Latin percussion and Frankfurt's electronic underground, he shaped a sound like no other: hypnotic, stretched, alive. With his debut album Alcachofa (2003) and his fabric 36 mix (2007), built entirely from his own productions, he redefined minimal and became one of electronic music's most singular figures. This episode travels through his catalogue, from Easy Lee to Primer Encuentro Latino-Americano, built on a song by Chilean band Los Jaivas, and his remix of Insanlar's Kime Ne.
